Irish singer-songwriter with more than 50 years on the folk scene, with special guest Sabrina Dinan

Luka Bloom is an artist without equal. Uncompromising in his pursuit of the craft of songwriting, he has amassed a huge catalog of material in his more than fifty years of penning songs. A keen observer of the world around him, and a masterful storyteller.

Having tread the boards of stages all over the globe, a lifetime of craft honing has given Luka Bloom from Newbridge a place on the music map. Luka comes from a family of singers and writers first going on tour with older brother, Christy Moore, in 1969. It was a tour of English folk clubs and he was fourteen years of age. That was a long time ago. Luka has since brought his songs to clubs, theatres, fesitivals, bars, arenas and dives all over the world. From McGanns in Boston to The Tivoli in Brisbane to Red Hot Club in Newbridge.

Its 1987, Barry Moore flew out to America and Luka Bloom came back. Singing his songs around the US, gigging with The Pogues, the Violent Femmes, The Dixie Chicks, Hothouse Flowers, The Cowboy Junkies.

Sabrina Dinan

We are delighted to welcome Sabrina Dinan as special guest on the night.

Sabrina has played twice in Clonmel for us, and we love her !

Sabrina is a singer songwriter from Co. Clare. She started playing guitar at age eleven. During that period of her life Sabrina was inspired by everything on the radio and listened obsessively with her sisters to everything ranging from Joni Mitchel to Wham.

In 1999, Sabrina packed her bags and her guitar and headed to Australia. There, she continued to hone her skills on guitar as well as her own skills as a songwriter. And it was during this time that she wrote and performed her first original song titled “Musicmaker.”

After hearing her perform in Glór Theatre in Ennis, Luka Bloom invited her to join him on his Holland & Belgium tour in 2006. Following this, and the comfort he had witnessed in Sabrina as a performer, Luka also invited her to tour with him in Germany, Australia and America in the same year. She was also invited to contribute to a the late John Martyn on a Tribute Album titled ‘JOHNNY BOY WOULD LOVE THIS,’ in 2011 alongside Lisa Hannigan, David Grey, Beck and Beth Orthon.

Sabrina has also shared the stage with Damien Dempsey, Jacob Dylan and Brendan Benson.

Her first E.P. was titled ‘The Bondi Hotel’. Her second E.P. “The Beginnings” was released in 2023. Sabrina is busy gathering material for her Debut album.
