With Melanie Scott, Arts Officer at Tipperary County Council

Exhibition information: https://calendar.clonmel.town/event/changing-natures-exhibition-at-linn-gallery

We are thrilled to invite you to the opening of our latest exhibition, Changing Natures, on Friday, 10 April at 5pm. We are delighted to announce that the show will be officially launched by Melanie Scott, Arts Officer at Tipperary County Council.

The Exhibition Theme: The exhibition celebrates the artist as an alchemist. It explores the art of transformation, where natural elements are given new narratives. It examines the power of art to breathe new life into that which might otherwise fade or be forgotten. The artists in this exhibition work with wood, water, flowers and other organic materials. Through their craft and creative vision, they turn these materials into something beautiful and lasting. They give permanence to the fragile and bring life to the raw, inviting us to view them in new light, as cherished forms of beauty.

Featured Artists:

Katie Byrne is a visual artist whose work begins not in the studio, but in her garden. Sowing seeds, watering the earth, and waiting for the first shoots to emerge is an integral part of her practice. Guided by a deep reverence for nature, each flower is cultivated and tended to in her garden in Tipperary. Through her slow and deliberate practice, she transforms flora into lasting imprints of the landscape that nurtured them.

Annie Hogg: Is an emerging Tipperary artist. With a studio based practice using sculpture, installation, sound and community engagement, she works with natural materials in traditional and innovative ways. Her work researches power relations and resources. Aiming to see both human and other than human responses and outcomes in human led situations. Material choices are made with an intention of furthering discourse of the world and Hogg’s place in it.

Louise Wilde is a contemporary wood sculptor based in Mayo, Louise Wilde's practice transforms wood into dynamic, non-functional forms. Working primarily through woodturning, she extends traditional techniques into sculptural territory, drawing on approaches associated with glass and ceramics to reimagine wood as a fluid and expressive medium. Using locally sourced, often green or storm-felled timber, she works in close dialogue with the material, allowing its movement, grain, and irregularities to shape each piece.

Join us on Friday April 10th at 5pm for the official opening and experience these beautiful transformations for yourself. All are welcome!
