This May, two of the region’s most acclaimed musical ensembles come together for a landmark concert in one of Clonmel’s most cherished venues. Belle Voci Women’s Choir and the Libra String Trio Quartet co-present Belles & Strings: A Night of Stage & Screen — an evening drawing on the greatest music from theatre and film, performed in the magnificent acoustic of Old St. Mary’s Church.
With thirty voices and a full string quartet, the combined forces of Belle Voci and Libra promise a rich, full sound perfectly matched to the warmth and resonance of the historic church setting. The programme spans the most iconic and beloved moments of Stage and Screen — from sweeping theatrical anthems to intimate cinematic favourites.

Belle Voci, under the musical direction of Eamon O’Malley, has built a reputation as one of Tipperary’s most vibrant and accomplished choirs, competing at national and international festivals and earning a devoted following across the region. The choir’s summer concert has become one of the most anticipated events in the local arts calendar.
The Libra String Quartet brings professional polish and musical versatility to this collaboration — equally at home in the classical repertoire and the great show tunes of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
