	ing audiences\nfor the past six years with their unique original material.
	 If you enjoy\nhaunting\, heartfelt vocals that reach into the bottom of y
	our soul\, melodic\nfingerstyle acoustic guitar that flows between genres\
	, then this group is worth\na listen.. They have been gaining notice at Ir
	ish festivals for their unique\nsound\, channelled through the passionate 
	and dynamic vocals of their lead\nsinger\, Breege Phelan.\n\nTheir sound t
	akes inspiration from their eclectic tastes\, citing influences from\n60s 
	folk bands ‘Trees’\, ‘Pentangle’\, and Bert Jansch\, ‘Steeleye Span’\, roc
	k\nicons ‘Led Zeppellin’\, modern icons ‘Radiohead’\, to vocalists like Ka
	te Bush\,\nAnne Briggs and Joni Mitchell. Their music also has deep roots 
	in Irish cultural\nidentity: the 6 track EP was written and recorded at ho
	me during lockdown and\nencapsulates this duo’s diverse storytelling abili
	ty\, with songs inspired by the\npirate queen of Irish history\, Gráinne N
	í Mháille\, the abolitionist Harriet\nTubman\, the Leannán-Sí of Irish myt
	hology\, the political Aisling style poems of\nthe 17th and 18th century a
	nd of course\, the obligatory nod to heartbreak and\nrevenge. “These songs
	 were born over the space of four years and the theme of\nthe EP comes fro
	m stories that reflect our interest in human history and Irish\nmythology 
	& folklore”.\n\nIn August 2019\, they were the first act to perform at the
	 ‘Music on the\nMountain’ series in Kilcash\, County Tipperary. In the sam
	e year\, their sell-out\nshow\, ‘Evolution’\, a mix of original songs and 
	classic folk covers in Irish\,\nEnglish and French\, headlined at the Clan
	cy Festival\, after which they were\ninvited to perform at the Shannonside
	 Winter Music Festival in Bunratty\, Co.\nClare in January 2020+.\n\nIn Ma
	y 2020\, they released their first single ‘Meadow Song’\, gaining airtime 
	on\nnumerous radio stations.\n\nIn June 2020\, they recorded\, produced an
	d hosted part of the ‘Clancy Brothers\nOnline Festival’ and later that mon
	th\, they were chosen to perform on TG4’s\nlockdown TV series with Hector 
	Ó hEochagáin ‘Hector Anseo’. In July 2020\, they\nrecorded performances fo
	r ‘The Clonmel Junction Festival’\, as part of the\n‘Clonmel Originals’ Sh
	owcase as well as providing music for ‘The Boatmens\nNature’ Spoken Word E
	vent as part of the same festival. In that month too\,\n‘Cuppa Tea TV’\, a
	n Irish online platform for international acts\, invited them to\nperform 
	live.\n\nTheir first live sell-out performance post-Covid\, in 2021\, was 
	for Clonmel\nCulture Night in September\, where they delighted their audie
	nce again with their\nunique sound. The following December\, they were inv
	ited to take part in the\nonline music event\, Grianstad\, where they shar
	ed a stage with Emma Langford\,\nPaul Noonan\, Jack O’Rourke and local fol
	k legend\, Jim Ryan of Jim O’ the Mills\nPub.\n\nFor a time\, The Wood of 
	O experimented with their live sound to include backing\nvocals\, bass and
	 lead guitar\, playing sell-out concerts at the historic venue of\nCahir C
	astle as part of the Winter Series\, boutique Clonmel festival ‘When Next\
	nWe Meet’ and The Clonmel Junction Festival.\n\nThey independently release
	d their debut EP ‘MountainSkyMoon’ in June 2022 and by\nthe following June
	\, their song ‘Broken Doll’ was shortlisted in the final 10\nsongs of Nigh
	t and Day Music Festival Song Contest.\n\nIn October 2024\, they supported
	 RTE Folk Award Winner\, John Francis Flynn in\nClonmel\, as part of his I

	 night is great local singer Eoin Barrett.\n\nEoin is a veteran of singing
	 in the local pub sessions and is now doing his own\ngigs.\n\nHe has a lov
	ely guitar style and distinctive voice.\n\nHe has a huge song repertoire\,
	 from all the Irish classics to Johnny Cash\, Bob\nDylan and Donovan\n\nEo
	in was special guest for our last gig with The Wran\, and we are delighted
	 to\nhave him back.
