DESCRIPTION:> Join STAC artists in residence Jack Ó’Meara & Jack Pierce for
a discussion on\n> their practices and residency experience\n\nMeet STAC’
s resident artists Jack Ó’Meara and Jack Pierce as they discuss their\nind
ividual practices. This discussion will be accompanied by an optional\nhan
ds-on activity. \n\nJack Ó Meara is a visual artist based between Tipperar
y and Dublin. Having\ngraduated from NCAD in 2023 in Fine Art Textiles\, Ó
Meara’s practice is\nprocess-driven with a focus on materiality. Using te

hemes relating to the passage of time\,\ncolonialism and the duality of mo
dern life. \n\nJack Pierce is a Dublin-based multi-disciplinary artist and
educator\,\nspecialising in textile art. Pierce's practice is process-dri
ven\, blending\nsculpture\, painting\, and costume. Influenced by queer ec
ology\, monstrosity\, and\nidentity\, he uses experimental material proces
ses to reimagine the world around\nhim.\n\nOur STAC residency programme 20
26 aims to facilitate collaboration between\nartists who wish to work toge
ther\, but who have otherwise not had the time\nand/or space to do so. As
part of the residency artists were awarded a stipend\nand asked to deliver
an element of public engagement at the week’s end.
