DESCRIPTION:Created by volunteers and staff working with refugees in Clonme
l for Refugee\nWeek in Clonmel this street-photography exhibition explores
the theme ‘Courage\nto Welcome’. Captured in public spaces and everyday s
ettings\, the images were\ntaken by members of the local volunteer group C
lonmel Together\, alongside staff\nfrom a local IPAS centre and Tipperary
County Council’s Local Authority\nIntegration Team. Curated by street phot
ographer Kevin Lim\, the work focuses on\nunscripted moments of connection
\, presence\, and shared space. Together\, the\nphotographs reflect how we
lcome is lived in small gestures\, ordinary encounters\,\nand the rhythms
of daily life around us.\n\nCurator’s Note from photographer\, Kevin Lim:\
n“The Courage to Welcome exhibition\, created by volunteers and staff work
ing with\nrefugees in Clonmel\, Tipperary\, asks something simple of its v
isitors: to look\nagain.\nAt first glance\, the photographs may appear ord
inary\, images of familiar objects\nand places\, yet each image gestures b
eyond itself\, holding a quieter tension:\nthe pause before entry\, the he
sitation at a threshold\, the silent question of\nbelonging within a welco
ming community.\n\nVisitors are requested to consider welcome not as an id
ea\, but as a series of\nsmall\, practical acts of kindness that support n
ewcomers to the community.\n\nThe perspective of the photographs on show i
s that of the volunteer. Their\nphotos reveal how ordinary spaces include
or exclude\, how everyday objects and\ngestures can calm or unsettle the m
ind.\nThese photographs point to the quiet\, often invisible labour of wel
come\, and to\nthe courage it demands\, both from those who offer it and f
rom those who must\nfind the will to accept it.\n\nWelcome is not sentimen
	t. It is structure\, not opinion\, but action. Not distance\nbut crossing.
\nThis exhibition reflects on what it means to hold space so others can mo
ve\nforward\, to build\, to support\, to help newcomers span the divide.\n
The courage to welcome is choosing to stand in the gap and make this journ
	ey\npossible.”\n\nOpening hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4.30pm\n\nSuitable
	for ages 10+
